Coaching Mentorship

2016-17 Coaching Mentorship -Application Form

New Coaches are the life blood of our sport. New coaches are key to club growth and are the future of Speed Skating. There is a need to find and develop new coaches for the sustainability of Speed Skating! The Saskatchewan Amateur Speed Skating Association recognizes that we need to develop new coaches and give them the opportunity to grow through experience at National Level competitions. As a result, SASSA will financially support one mentor coach to attend 4 National competitions this year. This is a perfect opportunity to shadow an experienced coach and get a taste for what High Performance Coaching is all about. Please read the details below!

Sask Speed Skating will financially support one mentor coach to attend each of the following competitions: Canada Cup 2, Canadian Junior Long Track Championships, CACLT and CanWest Short Track. Selected applicants will shadow one or more of the SASSA Coaches during the competition. Preference will be given to coaches that have taken NCCP Certification and demonstrate a commitment to the sport. All interested Club Coaches are welcome to apply. Unfunded mentor coach positions might be made available if the demand is high.

Application deadline is December 1, 2016.
